Our Story

I’m Erin Nelson, owner of Irish Twins Soap Company…so pleased you landed on our page.

I started making soaps several years ago when I got a bit fed up with my quest for soap without petroleum, synthetic perfumes and colors.  You see I am fussy about what I put on my skin because skin absorbs whatever you put on it.  In a world full of chemicals I wanted to get back to simple, natural basics.  I wanted an easy natural product and I wanted to know what was in it.  And so I began.

I knew I couldn’t be the only one who felt this way, so I bought my first soap mold on Craigslist almost 9 years ago, fired up my first batch in my kitchen and the rest is history as they say.  I had no idea I had boarded the Soap Train.

In those 9 years we have attended Farmer’s Markets, Craft & Arts Shows, Pop-up Shops and several retailers have picked up our products in their health markets or salons.  We now have a full line of all natural aromatherapy artisan soaps that are safe, non-toxic alternatives to commercial soaps with artificial dyes, colors, and fragrances.

I try to source ingredients as locally as possible, and we try to package our goodies minimally.  We try to be mindful of every purchase we make and strive to support fair trade, organic and sustainable businesses.

We now have a brick and mortar shop in a historical building in the main downtown district of our small town. It’s a far cry from our kitchen at home with a full soaping kitchen and a studio full of molds, essential oils, packaging materials and a full candle station where we pour our soywax candles and waxmelt tarts.

Stop by our browse our full line of soaps, spa luxuries like sugar scrub, bath truffles, cupcake soaps, bath bombs, bath salts, body butters, all natural deodorants.  Because I’m naturally minded all around, we also have a full line of green homekeeping products from laundry soap, laundry stain sticks, wool dryer balls, lavender sachets and linen sprays.

So what are Irish Twins?  Siblings born less than a year apart.  My sis and I are 11 months apart, we’re Irish and it seems like a perfect fit!

We’re a small business and we love to support small business.  We’re invested in our business, our quality matters, our customers matter.

I’d love to connect with you!
